HUD Certification Exam

This course is designed to provide housing counseling practitioners with test-taking tools and strategies in preparation for sitting for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) competency certification examination(s). This course does not replace content mastery, which can be obtained through the NCRC Dodd-Frank e-learning Training Series, but is designed to teach practitioners methods that will increase the probability of passing the HUD examination itself.

The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act requires counselors at HUD-approved housing counseling organizations to be certified by HUD as competent to provide comprehensive counseling services. As a result, HUD will administer a standardized examination testing counselors’ competencies in six major areas of housing counseling.

The competency areas are:

1. Financial Management

2. Home Maintenance and Financial Management for New Homeowners

3. Consumer Rights and Responsibilities of Homeownership and Tenancy

4. Fair Housing

5. Housing Affordability

6. Avoiding Delinquency/Default and Eviction.

Meet & Greet

The National Training Academy will be hosting a Meet & Greet event the evening of Wednesday, January 13, 2016. This will give our attendees the opportunity to network and get to know one another. Join us to view a presentation from a special guest from the Office of Housing Counseling on the latest HUD program updates.

Light hors d’oeuvres will be served.

Cancellation & Transfer Policy

Our trainings require a $50.00 non-refundable registration fee. Transfers to a future offering will be available only to participants who inadvertently registered for an incorrect course or for an unforeseen documented emergency.

NCRC’s Training Academy reserves the right to cancel any session with insufficient enrollment. We strongly suggest that you do not make nonrefundable airline reservations without a course confirmation.
