RAISE Texas Events Update
RAISE Texas Action Summit
Save the dates of November 1-2, 2011 for the 2011 RAISE Texas Action Summit at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas in Dallas, Texas. An exciting Learning Forum titled, “Taking College Savings Accounts to Scale” will be held on November 1 followed by the 2011 RAISE Texas Action Summit on November 2. This year’s Summit, “Building a Savings Culture in Texas,” will highlight our successes this past year. Look for more information in June.
Regional Forum in Jacksboro
RAISE Texas’ most recent Regional Rural Community Asset Building Forum in partnership with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, and Texas Rural Innovators, and with support from the Jacksboro Chamber of Commerce and EDC was a success! The forum held on April 21, 2011 in Jacksboro, Texas drew 50 people from around the region to learn about ways to create or expand asset-building activities in their community. Keep checking our Events page for information on future events.

The AEI Financial Products & Services Committee has published a new Quick Reference Guide for Employers and Community Organizations entitled Understanding the Impact of Alternative Financial Services. This Guide is available on the Resources page of our website.
Apply for a 2012 VITA Grant
The Internal Revenue Service is pleased to announce that the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Grant Program is continuing. This program promotes and supports free tax preparation service for underserved low-income populations across the United States. Application information will be available starting on May 23.
